Getting ready for Halloween!

There is just nothing like celebrating a holiday through a child's eyes.  Here are some of the fun moments we shared with Mallory as we prepared for Halloween...
Grandma and Mommy took Mallory to the library for their Halloween Craft night.  Mallory made this spooky Frankenstein out of a paper tube!
In North Carolina, Mallory decorated 3 mini pumpkins... these felt kits were awesome!
And, voila!  A Mummy, Witch and Dracula!
Mallory was so proud to put them on Mama Peg's front porch!
Mommy got into the Halloween spirit in her orange and black....
Mallory searched through a pumpkin patch in front of Harris Teeter in Raleigh...
Then, it was time to carve our punpkin.... This is traditionally a job that Mallory and Daddy do together.  Mallory is never too excited about seeing the guts at first.....
... but then, she really gets into it!
She was even brave enought this year to reach in with her hand!
Enjoying making a mess!
Then, she happily let Daddy do most of the work!
Once the guts were out, she began to make a plate of "spaghetti" for Uncle Johnny.  He was a real trooper and played along!
Mommy helped draw the face.  Mallory wanted triangle eyes, a circle nose and a "silly" mouth.
The first eye is out!
Mallory tried SO HARD to saw through the pumpkin by herself!  (Don't worry... that is a pumpkin cutter knife for kids!)
I told Mallory to hold up the mouth in front of her mouth for a picture, and she decided to take a bite!  She chewed, swallowed and didn't complain.... but another bite did NOT follow!
And- our completed Jack-O-Lantern!  Along with the plate next to it.... after all- no "guts", no glory!
